RULE 19.3 - Relief options for ball unplayable in bunker:

North Halton has some high lip bunkers and for many of us they are difficult to get out of.  In 2019 a new rule came out that we can take the ball out of the bunker for a 2 stroke penalty.  The diagram above shows the line you must follow if using this option #4.

This previously presented problems in stroke play because the player was required to finish the hole so she could not simply pick up and move to the next hole after multiple tries to play the ball from the bunker.

This gives players an option for taking relief outside the bunker and allows them to keep playing rather than being disqualified.

It was nice of our departing Golf Course Superintendent Colin Young to leave us with a restored bunker on the left side of #15 green.  This bunker in the past with its huge lip left a lot us frustrated.  Looks really good now.
